Hi Everyone!
I know I have been VERY (to say the least) MIA lately, but for very good reason! Today I’m getting to share with you a new project near and dear to my heart that stemmed from a tradition experienced in my family that I wanted to share with the world. It’s possibly one of my favorite projects I’ve ever taken from concept to completion.
Motherhood brings an immense mount of joy to my life; and as all parents know, finding the best products for my children is always a must.
MeLuvKush was created by us, several moms all looking to make a happy and safe environment for our children, while creating lively designs inspired by India that are chic and fresh.
As we all started our families, our mothers hand-stitched traditional godhis for us to use to hold our babies. The godee (go-dee) is a plush pouch that encloses newborns in a safe and comfortable environment (akin to swaddling but with greater protection); also allowing friends and family to interact with their newest family members in a hygienic, easy manner.
Upon realizing that godees aren’t readily available for purchase, we decided to reinvent this South Asian tradition and make our own: and thus MeLuvKush was born. Designed in NYC and made in Jaipur; the MeLuvKush godee patterns are a playful interpretation of vibrant Indian colors and motifs—all created by an NYC preschool teacher.
MeLuvKush godees are a new way of holding your happy baby. Please check out our 2013 godee collection on www.meluvkush.com!
